I read this article about High School Seniors committing to pursuing a career in the Skilled Trades.

This is welcome news!!

I started high school in the late 1980's when shop class was still available for students to take as an elective.  Since that time, high school shop classes have nearly disappeared.  The reason for this can be attributed to many factors but perhaps the biggest factor is the focus on preparing high school students for College.

College isn't for everyone.  I hope the awareness of the opportunities in the skilled trades continues to build momentum!!
